Catching up on some pictures this weekend and thought I'd post some of the types of scrappin layouts that I migrate to when I'm left to my own devices..lol... My style is not necessarily pleasing to anyone else but me~ but I LOVE the freedom and self expression of doing these for myself once in a while ~ Hope you enjoy the slideshow and if you have any questions, just leave a comment or email. :)   ~ Angel

Clear Acetate Christmas Card Tutorial

Hi All ~ I received a request to show you how easy the new clear cards are and to show the glitter run-ons in action ~ So I have combined the two requests and have a picture tutorial for you today!  Enjoy :)
Cut out the chosen rubon and place on the inside left of the card - make sure you have taken off the protective plastic sleeves from the cards!  Rub firmly being careful not to move the transfer.  Take off the white sheet you see here - there will be a clear sheet under it - remove it as well.

Take the glitter sheet from the glitter rubons kit and place it face down over the image.  Rub firmly with your fingers, slowly starting at the center of the design and working outward -- I like to go over it again using the spatula end of the BG rubon tool just to make sure you get alot of glitter on the image.

Remove the glitter sheet and as you will see here - mine was a  large snowflake.  To do multiple colors - simply leave the clear covering on the small accent rubons until you are ready to choose the color for them.  Can you see the small snowflakes covered on the top left corner here that I'm pulling off in the picture?  I removed them next and repeated step 2 using silver and sweet leaf glitter sheets from the kit on them.

Here's what the card looks like once you finish applying the glitter-- still some sticky spots, and static glitter everywhere...can you see it?

Here's what I do to take it away!  Step 1: Sprinkle a light coat of baby powder ,talc, or baking powder.

Tap off excess and some will still stick -- looking like this -- don't panic  !

Take a dryer sheet and lightly go over your project to remove the excess powder and take the glitter and static with it!!  YAY!

Here is my finished card ~ I added a sentiment and ribbon to the front of the card using teeny glue dots and Midnight Blue  StazOn ink.  Got a small smear here since stamping on acetate is slippery - but you can wipe off the bad tries with StazOn cleaner and try again and again!  (I actually tried three different sentiments myself!) You'll want to pick one with not so much detail as it is hard to get it on there without smearing it.

Hope you enjoyed this and learned a little about clear cards, glitter rubons, and our new blue sparkles.  If you would like to get the supplies to do your cards ~ go to my site!  www.stampsforu.myctmh.com and order away!

Enjoy your weekend and I'll be back on Monday to talk with you again!

Christmas Layouts with a Magic twist!

Terrific Technique Tuesday All !  Today's share project is the new Flip Flaps from CTMH.  I experimented with my Thanksgiving and Christmas papers from my stash to see just how this wonderful new product can enlarge your 12x12 layouts into a FABULOUS expanding layout!  Check out the slideshow from Slide.com!

It's so easy to use these Flip Flaps (Z1325) as you can see!  I did mine ultra fast using the Level 1 kits for each paper pack and the included Stickease (you could easily use any layout).  The Flip Flaps are sized "page protector Pockets" that attach to the page protector containing your original layout.  There are several sizes in the pack to choose from too ~ 6x12 4x12 and 8x12 ~ and you are not limited to what kinds of great layouts you can create with them!  I am so glad to have these ! Now I can keep up with the holiday rush and make great layouts in a flash that are interactive, fun, and contain more pictures.

Hope you enjoy the slideshow and if you have questions ~ please email or leave a comment !

MUAHHHHAAAHHAAAA ! Halloween Layouts YAY!

Greetings!  Today I wanted to show you some quick pics of the layouts I've been working on for October crop this weekend!  I've had such a ghoulishly fun time with the new CTMH paper Hooligans :))  You may be wondering why both layouts look so similar (?) that's because I wanted to prove a point and I'm glad you noticed!!  The first layout is done specific to Halloween ~ I used Martha Stewarts new GLOW in the Dark glitter mixed with Prisma glitter for the ghosties and the dots in the background... TOO FUN!!

The second layout is dedicated to my youngest son's favorite book and this is going to be his layout about it ---  You don't have to use a paper JUST for Halloween  --- stretch your stash and use that paper if the colors are right for another set of pics!  Also, this is why I LOVE CTMH paper ~ You might not have noticed it if you're not a "Collector" of papers like me ~ but the purple paper in this layout isn't even part of the Hooligans set~ it's from another set called You ROCK!  Who says you can't mix paper packs and stretch that stash even further?!?  Give it a try :))

In this case ~ these colors work perfectly with my son's all time favorite book, wouldn't you agree? I took a picture of the book itself for the layout just to remind me how "well loved" it has become..lol..It's been through teething spells, rough housing, destructo-mode, and still survived!

If you click on the layouts you can get a bigger shot (hopefully) of them ~ I used the Sept SOTM set Thriller on the background with black glitter from Martha Stewart, then used our ink pads and waterbrush to color the monsters.  Once they were dry i went over them with a Zig glue pen, prisma glitter, and liquid glass in places to make them look oozing, but playful..lol

OH!  Also, I want to give a shout-out to a great guy who designs fonts and the font I used on this layout ~ LOVE IT!  Kingthings.com  ~ The fonts I mixed for this are Lupine and Lupineless ~ The creepy eyeball letters are just way too perfect!

Have a scrappy day and if you have a question or wanna leave me some luv ~ go ahead and post a comment or two ~
