TWIT TWIT TWIT It's Girl's Night Crop!

Hey Gals and Dolls -- I already know what one of my New Year's Resolutions is going to be...I need to blog consistently; but I really need to learn some more on the "how to's" first... I'm writing it on the list..lol.

Anyway, Girl's Night Crop is Friday night Dec 4th and I'm still recovering from Mistletoe Market last weekend, and getting my in-laws ready for a week long trip touring Pennsylvania this week -- so excuse my lack of correspondence ~ I've missed you, too! We're going to do a 2pg LO using Twiterpated papers from CTMH -- also we are going to start planning our group projects and begin signups for Scrapbook Class - 101 and 201 that will begin in January 2010. Hope you can stop by for the crop, but if you're already starting the race toward shopping, etc. -- try to come to our Christmas party Crop on December 18th! Bring your santa hat and come crop with the Running with Scissors Team!

Hope Everyone has a Safe and Happy Holiday Season! Until then, {{HUGZ}} Angel

Christmas Crafts Crazy!! Gifting ideas for the Holidays

Hope you enjoy the show! Sorry I've not been the best blogger here of late; but I LOVE Christmas, and just had to get started on creating some new projects and gifts to keep ahead of my growing list of people to make gifts for this year. I love the traditional Evensong papers from CTMH, and the crisp blues of Aspen papers - so I started with those first!
(1) The 6x6 Popout album is one of my favs and I only get to keep partial credit for this great little project -- The original idea was an album done by a wonderful crafter named Tina Sutton. Thanks Tina for your inspiring energy! Kits are $15.
(2) Next you'll see the Aspen snowman display -- cute 4x4 coaster project done with CTMH products, a few die cuts and FlowerSoft. A cute gift to display year after year! Kits are $8.
(3)The Christmas display album is great for gift giving this year since it holds 24 full 4x6 pics in sturdy ring bound page protectors -- Kits includes 1/2 of a level 2 Evensong paper pack and loads of accessories.
(4)The next pic is the Memory Keeper card box.. I have created mine to stand up and store my Christmas notebook and tags for presents, etc. inside. This also makes a wonderful gift box to showcase handmade ornaments for someone special at Christmastime if you wish to leave it lying down. All of the techniques used on this projects will be discussed at the crop. If you'd like to create one of these, I will have the Memory Keeper boxes on hand, just bring your own paper pack and embellies or purchase it the day of the crop.
(5) The next picture is the CUTE binder album from CTMH -- Celebrate Christmas album. If you'd like additional pics of the inside of the projects email me and I'll send them to you - I can give you a hint though, It's amazing on the inside! I used square window charms, dewdrops, lots of ribbons and embellishments, an entire Level 1 Evensong paper pack and Lots of extra flip flaps and Top Coats - this album usually holds 10 4x6 pictures - Mine has spaces for 16 4x6, or more if they are smaller! The basic kit is $20 which includes a level 1 paper pack, everything to go on the front cover and a few of the punches used on the inside of the album. The "better" kit is $30 which includes all the basic package plus flip flaps, topcoats, more square window charms,a full sheet of chipboard shapes, ribbon sliders, ribbons, and brads to finish the projects and have some left overs to do more. The "best" package is $50 and includes all of the ingredients in the other two packages, just in larger full package quantities. You will receive a full package of Top Coats, Flip Flaps, 6 feet of ribbon, 1 white daisy mini medley pack, and 12 color coordinated brads. Cutting guide and use of stamp sets, Prisma glitter, inks, tools, etc. is FREE and available the day of the crop. This discount package is LIMITED - so if you'd like one of these please reserve your kit right away.

(6) The last project I have to show you tonight is a great octagon hatbox I picked up a while ago -- it was was begging to be decorated in Grace papers -- I love the retractible handles I pulled from my stash and the vintage look of Grace papers.. This project can be reserved as a work-on-your-own project the day of the crop and I'll have some of the embellies I used here on hand for sale or by mail -- full color detailed pics and instructions are included.

All of the projects on the slideshow will be available for croppers to make at the All Day Crop Saturday, November 7th - but if you're not able to come - you can always contact me and reserve your kit and have it shipped to you -- just email me at a_sawyer208@yahoo.com

Next week I start on Jingle --- Whoa Nelly am I havin' some fun!! I'll try to get away from my projects long enough to blog you some pics :)

Hope you didn't fall asleep after the ramble of information I had to get out tonight! But I do hope you'll leave your feedback on what you like/dislike about the slideshow of gifts, I'd love to hear from you!

YAY! GRACE girl's Night out!

Hi Everyone! Just a quickie blog to show you some pics of our Girl's Night Crop projects..lol... I know, I always have to ruin the surprise, but I just can't help it! This month we're working with Grace papers from CTMH and I get to teach heat embossing, and working with chipboard flowers, then dyeing crochet flowers to match! We get to use TopCoat overlays on the 9x9 albums, work with Prima velvet leaves on the layout, and practice some techniques using the cuttlebug on Nestabilities Spellbinder dies....man I love my "job"! It's getting chilly here (finally) so Grace is perfect for all those fall pics you're going to have if you don't have some in your stash to scrap already. Take a look!

Enjoy the slide.com show, and as always if you live too far away to come to girl's night crop - I can send you a kit for any of these projects, just drop me a line! {{HUGZ}} Angel

Hi everyone! I've been playing with the new card kit called Everyday Celebration from Close to My Heart the last couple days, and doing some very late spring cleaning, making some layouts and just generally having alot of fun with my crafting....so much fun that I never touched the computer ! Whew, what a mistake! Now I'm playing catch-up with 500+ emails and getting all the pictures downloaded from Sawyer Family Reunion this past weekend. I had so much fun, and ate WAY too much; but the food is always sooo good, I just can't help it! Anyway, here's the pics (and hopefully the Picassa album will load, if I do this right)...so here goes!

I know the flashplayer goes really fast, but that is a problem for another day..lol... you can view the whole album of larger pics on Picasa albums - just follow the plug-in link to my public album called AlteredRealitywith Angel. More later, Thanks for stopping by :)

Good Gracious... I survived !

Hi Guys and Gals! WOW we had lots of fun Saturday. I'm still recovering..lol. Today I thought I'd share one of the projects I'm doing for the Harvest of Memories event in Perry (Sept 25,26,27). It is a ceramic tile book I made using Bella papers and CTMH cardstock, Foundry tabs, and some satin ribbon. I think it turned out pretty well, and hopefully I'll have some friends at HOM to share making these with :).....there are two accordion-fold mini albums of pages on the inside and foundry tabs on the front two pages. I really like the weight that the ceramic tile adds to the album so it is freestanding and not likely to fall over if you choose to display it open or closed. Well, I'm playing with my new card kit tonight, hehehe, you know I had to get one early to play with! So I'll post what I come up with after I get some time to play. {Hugz} Angel ^j^

Shoutin Out to JHS Class of '88

Geeshhh! Has it really been that long? Today I'm devoting some of my crazy schedule to recognize that you can't know where you're going...until you remember where you've been...and who you were, then. I just recently started to do FB and have ran into so many of my old friends from high school! So here's a shout to Jason Craig Kimi and all the ones I haven't found yet! I wish i had a photo scanned from my old yearbook to show you just how 80's and ridiculous I looked back then, but alas; I will spare myself the embarassment, and spare you from having to see it! This week is flying by and I've got so much I want to "spill", but I promised I'd wait on all the juicy CTMH secrets until Sept.1, but there's a few things going on that I CAN tell you! Thanks-A-Bration is on full swing, free paper packs...who doesn't love FREE ?!? Also, the Upcoming National Stamping Month (September) is just right around the corner! ok....I won't spill all, but I will tell you that I'm starting a Workshop on the Go Night here in Cochran, and that September is going to be a cardmakers favorite month--since the campaign is going to involve FREE card kits and an exclusive stamp set !
I really gotta wrap up for now -- gotta finish all the prep for All Day Crop on Saturday --- but stop back by often and I'll keep you posted :)

WOOOOHOOO to Grads!!

Mia Copa Mia Copa Bloggin Friends! We've been zapped by the graduation bug all week long! Pictures, parties, practicing the ceremony, etc. So here's my shout out to all the great people who make Bleckley County kids their life's work; molding them into continuing the tradition and sense of close community we share here :) WOOOOHOOOO!!!!!

The second whoop & holler goes to the 8th grade graduating class from Bleckley Middle School --- everyone was the epitome of "pomp & circumstance" tonight and I hope all of you realize how bright your future can be, and how many opportunities you have to make this community, and the world a better place :) WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!! I'm so proud of every ONE of YOU !

Wow, that looks kinda silly when you type it -- but the sentiment is from the heart, I was so proud of all these emerging teenagers (even though I only really knew a handful having just moved here 5 mos ago) and I love the fact that this community loves to celebrate accomplishments of their young people! The auditorium was packed to the rafters with people coming out in pouring rain to cheer on these lovely young people and you could feel their excitement when they were shooting absolutely hundreds of frames of pictures of these students. We're so lucky to have moved to such a great town :)

It's past 1am and I'm still WAY behind, but all myclients got their graduates' cards on time to go with their gifts, so I'm happy. My fingers may be purple for a week or longer -- Bleckley Co colors are purple and gold -- the lucky part? CTMH makes a perfect match: Hydrangea Purple paired with some sandpaper, black cs, and a little gold embossing, and WHAAA LA ! The Perfect card for our 2009 graduates. I'm so proud of my daughter, Raven and all of her friends for their performance this whole school year and at tonight's ceremony.

"Hey girls: YOU ROCK !!"
TTYL,
Angel ^j^

Geesh ... How time Flies!

What a wonderful weekend for Easter! The weather was a little cool at sunrise service, but as the day progressed it was really quite fair and we played outside the better part of the day Saturday and Sunday. The pic is Bry playing with some "practice" eggs that his brother and sister were hiding for him in the front yard on Saturday with friends. We colored eggs, ate most of them after the hunt, and played at the pond. Sonya and I actuallygot a few things planned for April and May workshops and the "biggie" being National Scrapbook Day! We're planning an all day crop with lots of activities and prizes to celebrate my 5th month with Close to my Heart ! It's alot of work, but I love planning all the surprises and workshops -- and then teaching them to others... it's alot more rewarding than I ever thought it'd be. So check your calender for May 2nd - and if you live too far away to come in person, contact me about our "virtual Guests List" where you can participate from anywhere, and be entered in all the drawings and prizes!

Well, sorry this post is short, but I just got my new paper packs from the Summer 09 Idea Book (one of the perks of being a consultant) and it's time to play! Maybe I'll post some sneak peeks this weekend..... until then: Kiss the ones you LOVE... I mean it! Angel ^j^

A Beautiful Saturday !!

a Happy day to you all !! This is my next set of recycle pledge cards: It's a beautiful day here and it's been very busy, but I thought I'd catch up and post since I'm on my first blogging road-trip! I;m headed to McDonough Ga to be with my best partyin buddy Dickie! This morning we also celebrated with my aunt Madge -- It's her 64th -- YOU GO AUNT MADGE!!

Don't worry bloggers -- I'm being chauffeured the 2 hours to McDonough -- so I thought I'd use the time to post some new cards for my recycle pledge -- one of them being Dickie's Bday card. This is a technique some call piecing, others have called it "Serendipity" although I don't know why.

You begin with all those tiny scrap that would normally go in the trash -- using a piece of copy paper you paste down all the little pieces after you're done with a project and when the sheet is full you let it dry VERY well and then run it with a Cuttlebug or other embossing folder to unify the pieces and WA-LA -- You have custom paper made from useless paper scraps! The dimension and randomness of the patterns appeals to me. It's like making your own designer paper pack!

I also want to thank everyone who made the Scrapbook Garage Sale such a success, and to Lisa Mosely of CTMH and HOGS for loaning us her house to throw it in Warner Robbins --- what a great way to trade and upgrade for a fab price! I even got some new toys to add to my stash!
A special thanks also to the girls at www.PinkPaislee.com -- I just recently heard about their blog hop this weekend and it really is a trip you should take ! Their design team is phenomenal! Their giving away prizes, too --- so go check it out! Well, that's it for Angel the traveling blogger and ctmh rep. Enjoy your weekend :) A. ^j^

What? Me... Guilty? The Dog did it!

How can I argue with a face like this ?!?!?!? He can be sssoooo sweet sometimes and then Dr. Jekyll decides to fingerpaint my pantry in dry oatmeal.....LMAO.... just had to get a pic before I cleaned up the mess...Anyway, he states with a straight face ----" the dog did it, mama."
You gotta love that. The dog opened the container and poured the oatmeal on the floor when he has no thumbs?......"uh huh" he says. Well, there you go ~~ guess he's innocent after all...:)
